Driver and Trailer B+E Training Courses
With the removal of the DVSA B+E test, category B (car) drivers are now legally allowed to driver a car and trailer unit weighing up to 7 tonnes (3.5tonne vehicle pulling 3.5tonne trailer). Most people realise that the standard training for a driving test is not good preparation for towing larger trailers, and employers require a replacement for this training for the H&S management processes.
The DVSA are in the process of introducing an approved trailer training accreditation scheme and we are working with all parties to ensure that we can provide this. Lantra Awards have provided trailer training courses for drivers in industry and agriculture for many years.
I can provide trailer familiarisation courses, for individuals who would like a basic introduction to hitching, unhitching, loading and reversing trailers.

Once on-road, there are comprehensive courses designed to ensure that drivers are at the same standard they would be if they had taken the B+E test, which is ideal for companies who want to ensure that their drivers will operate legally, safely and efficiently.

Where drivers are required to operate a 4×4 with a trailer off-road, there is an additional course for holders of the professional 4×4 driving certificate which covers the added risks of driving with trailers away from paved surfaces.
